In weather news today...

I hate to turn this blog into a weather update service, but the day after Valentine's day was such a beautiful sunny day that it was beyond ridiculous. My weather site says it was only 17 degrees celcius but I swear it was at least 20. It felt like an early June day in Canada or something! Unfortunately the past couple of days have gone back to the horrible cloudy and cold 9 degree weather!

In Japan, wearing your shoes indoors is verboten and after seeing a man pee on the street the other day, I can understand why. It wasn't the first time I've seen something like that happen of course, but it was the first time that it occured in the middle of the day and by a presumably stone cold sober person. I'm sure everybody else who was running on the second floor treadmills of our gym had a great view as well. Urinating in public is not a common sight but it's not unheard of here. Horking on the street on the other hand is quite common. I'm probably guilty of spitting the odd time when I think no one's watching but I definitely don't hork loudly on the street. I suppose it's better than being in China!

Hard to believe that I'll be coming home in a couple of days! Time sure flies-I haven't even started packing yet. I have finished my shopping though I think! Unless of course you have some expensive electronic items that you want me to buy for you. I just bought a $1200 Nikon camera for someone and when I used my Bic card I got $160 worth of points. Enough to get a free Nintendo DS Lite when they come out in Japan on March 2nd!
